Amuntai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai Sports Council (KONI-HSU) has shared bonus money for athletes who won medals in the 2017 South Kalimantan Paralympic Games (Peparprov).
Chairman of the KONI-HSU H. Barkati, HB in Amuntai on Tuesday said as many as 46 Paralympic athletes received varying bonuses.
"For the gold medalist gets a bonus of Rp20 million, silver Rp10 million and bronze Rp5 million," he said.
Barkati said, for the sports group with a number of 1 to 3 athletes, then the bonus is added 25 percent, when amounting to 4 to 6 athletes added 50 percent and so on.
In the Provincial Paralympic Games in Tanjung, the contingent of HSU won 15 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals.
Barkati said HSU Peparprov contingent took part in six sports from the seven sports competed. One sport not followed by HSU was futsal, due to lack of athletes with disabilities.
"KONI succeeded in sparing a budget of half a billion rupiah this year, so it can allocate bonuses for Paperprov athletes, except for the coach we delay bonuses on the 2018 budget," he explained.
Paperprov athlete bonus was submitted by the Regent of HSU Abdul Wahid in the Agung Building Amuntai. Wahid congratulated and thanked for the hard work of athletes and coaches so that HSU managed to increase the medal gain over the previous year.
Wahid said as a disadvantaged district with a limited budget, HSU was able to improve athletes' performance thanks to KONI's athletes, and coaches earnestness and hard work.
Wahid said the local government of HSU has not ambitious to host the Provincial Games (Porprov) and Paperprov, due to budget constraints.
"We are still focusing on coaching athletes and building sports facilities," he said.
