Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan Province, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Briton English Education as a facilitator to collaborate with partner higher education in Australia.
Kotabaru Regent H Muhammad Rusli called the collaboration a significant step in expanding access to education and skills, especially for the district's younger generation.
"Through this collaboration, we hope there will be knowledge transfer, increase human resource capacity, and opportunities for local youth to continue their studies and work abroad," he said in Kotabaru as reported on Thursday.

He said the main focus is capacity building in Kotabaru, particularly in education and development of English language programs, which are important for preparing younger generation to develop future tourism potential.
Briton English Education Director Sirajuddin Tendri said that the Kotabaru Regent's choice was very appropriate, considering Australia is a country with examplary educational standards.
"Hopefully the cooperation with Australian partners, Holmesglen Institute, Flinders University and TAFE NSW will run smoothly," he said.
Previously, at the end of April 2025, Kotabaru government had inked an MoU with Briton English Education, acting as a facilitator, to cooperate with partner high education institutions in Australia, including Holmesglen institute of Melbourne, Flinders University, Adelaide and TAFE NSW, Sydney.
Among their collaborative programs are the 2026/2027 Kotabaru Smart Scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the establishment and development of a Cambridge and Neas Australia Language Center (UPT Pusat Bahasa Standar) in Kotabaru.
