Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Mayor Muhammad Yamin HR said the 125th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) community service progam held by Banjarmasin/1007 Military Command (Kodim) is to alleviate development backwardness in Kuin Kacil, Mantuil Urban Village, South Banjarmasin.
“This integrated program is our hope that there will be no more underdeveloped urban village in Banjarmasin. We will map out if there are still areas with minimal access to development to be improved gradually,” he said after the opening of the 125th TMMD in Kuin Kacil, Banjarmasin, Wednesday.
The presence of TMMD, he said, is to open access to facilitate people activities, including in agriculture, education, and economy in general.
“Education is an important attention, development in this urban village will facilitate education access for children,” said the Mayor.
The city government has disbursed approximately Rp1.5 billion to support the 125th TMMD in Kuin Kacil to maximize the development efforts and ensure the benefits for the local community.

“We hope this program to continue. Please let us know if there are still residential areas lack of proper infrastructure, so we can consider for future improvement,” Yamin pointed out.
Meanwhile, Colonel Inf Sigit Purwoko said the 125th TMMD here involved about 150 joint personnel with several development targets, including the opening of 623 meter-long, two meter-wide road.
Then, construction of five bridges, installation of five culverts, rehabilitation of worship places, building public toilets (MCK), repairment of uninhabitable houses (RTLH), as well as agricultural and health counseling, and others.
He emphasized that this TMMD must have an impact by opening access for community, especially farmers, to stengthen national food security in this area.
“This area borders a neighboring area (Banjar District), so this area also serves as veranda of Banjarmasin City. Its infrastructure must not be left behind, and the access at the border must be open,” said Sigit.
