Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PLN South and Central Kalimantan Main Distribution Unit (UID Kalselteng) and the District Government of Barito Selatan, Central Kalimantan, agreed to stengthen their synergy to install village electricity network.
It was stated when PLN management here received a visit from Barito Selatan government entourage, including sub-district heads. They were led by the district Regional Secretary Edy Purwanto.
They were welcomed by General Manager PLN South and Central Kalimantan Ahmad Syauki along with Senior Managers and Managers of Implementing Units in Banjarbaru, Monday.
The audience became their strategic discussion space that built a spirit after Eid al-Fitr to continue to synergize to light up Barito Selatan for the advanced and prosperous community.
“We and PLN have the same spirit that is for a bright Barito Selatan,” said Edy Purwanto.

He expressed his high appreciation to PLN for the achievement and dedication that had been given in the effort to electrify Barito Selatan region and remote areas.
PLN had electrified as many as 73 villages or 83.91 percent of the total 87 villages spread across seven sub-districts. Only 14 villages have not been eletrified and are targeted to be connected in the near future.
“This is a very good performance from PLN. We are sure that synergy and collaboration have been established will be able to complete the remaining villages. We are ready to provide full support, including in terms of licensing and infrastructure,” Edy pointed out.
He also informed that Barito Selatan has a Public Service Mall that PLN can utilize to open service counter, so that the public can access electricity services more easily and quickly.
Meanwhile, PLN South and Central Kalimantan General Manager Ahmad Syauki welcomed various forms of support and emphasized that the success of village electricity program was the result of joint work by all parties, not just PLN.
“The support from the Barito Selatan government is an additional energy for us. We greatly appreciate synergy that has been establish, and committed to completing the village electricity program by a maximum (no later) of 2027,” said Syauki.
Syauki closed the meeting by emphasizing that electricity is the main pillar in regional development.
“Electricity is a basic need of people. It presence opens up new opportunities in education, health, to local economy development. PLN is ready to be part of improving the quality of life of the community to the remote areas inKalimantan,” he concluded.
