Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) and Tabalong district were named as South Kalimantan Province's ambassadors in a website-based nationwide child-friendly city (KLA) competition in 2017.
Head of the South Kalimantan Women Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) Agency Husnul Hatimah in Banjarmasin on Wednesday said HSU and Tabalong achieved the highest scores in the provincial-level competitions, outperforming districts and cities for 2017 web-based data presentation.
According to Husnul, the two districts will then compete with 47 other districts and cities in Indonesia to be the best at the national level.
Since its introduction and technical guidance on how to fill in the data related to child-friendly city programs and policies, HSU and Tabalong actively uploaded information on regional policies in order to strengthen the KLA Program.
"Together with the central team from the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection we have also come down to the field by digging validity and information related to the presentation of data sent to the website," he said.
Husnul said all the results verified by the ministry's team on 4-5 May are a follow up of the data contained in the web-based KLA program, whether in accordance with the data contained in the reality on the ground.
He explained that the results of the assessment verification will be announced at the peak of National Children's Day Commemoration on July 23, 2017.
Husnul hopes the entry of HSU and Tabalong can be an inspiration for other regions to continue to work towards realizing KLA in South Kalimantan. The program aims to suppress and even eliminate violence against women and children and to create friendly and caring areas and to protect children.
