Tanjung, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tabalong government prepares a land to develop a botanical garden in Kasiau Village, Murung Pudak Sub-district, as a conservation area of various types of plants.
Head of Research and Development Division of Tabalong Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Rosdianoor in Tanjung on Thursday said about 50 hectares of land has been prepared for the construction of Tanjung Puri Botanical Garden.
"A decree for establishment of the botanical garden is being prepared, includes the preparation of masterplan as the initial stage of development," explained Rosdianoor.
In addition, an assessment team was established by the local Agriculture Agency regarding the assessment of replacement plants for conservation purposes in the area.
Tanjung Puri area in Kasiau Village, said Rosdianoor, has been defined as the object of tourism development and research of flora and fauna through Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 9 of 1998.
Bappeda together with the Indonesian Institute of Science's (LIPI) Botanical Gardens Conservation Center have signed a cooperation agreement in December 2016 related to the construction of Tanjung Puri as botanical gardens.
