Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Health Office said that as many as 20 dialysis services spread across hospitals in 13 districts and cities had treated around 7,500 cases of chronic kidney failure in 2024.
“These 20 dialysis services have 236 beds, all spread across districts and cities,” said acting Head of South Kalimantan Health Office Muhammad Muslim after receiving a working visit from the Ministry of Health's Dialysis Service Visitation Team at Moch Anshari Saleh Regional Hospital in Banjarmasin, Saturday.
He said that dialysis installation in hospitals are really needed, because they play role in helping chronic kidney failure sufferers maintain their health and quality of life.
“Especially that today the Ministry of Health carried out visitation of the dialysis service plan at Moch Anshari Saleh Hospital, this will increase and strengthen dialysis in South Kalimantan,” he said.
Muslim expounded that chronic kidney failure is a serious disease that attacks kidney function. When kidneys are unable to filter waste and fluids from the body, dialysis becomes one of the main therapies to maintain the health of sufferers.
According to Muslim, the ministry's visit to the dialysis service plan at Moch Anshari Saleh Hospital will realize dialysis service management standards according to applicable standards in providing services to patients.
Moch Anshari Saleh Hospital then must have a managerial and organizational structure for dialysis installation service that is reliable and meets all competency requirements, rooms that meet requirements, safe, comfortable, equipped with high service quality.
