Batulicin, South Kalimantan 20/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Bumbu administration determined to immediately realize the construction of Kusan River dam in the district of Kusan Hulu to cope with flooding.
Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. maming in Batulicin onMonday said in addition to cope with floods, dam construction has many benefits that can be felt by the community, especially around the dam.
"The positive impact of which can prevent overflow of water during a heavy rain, and to make it as hydroelectric power plant (PLTA)," he said.
It also to be used to improve productivity of agriculture to irrigate thousands of hectares of rice fields in the surrounding area.
Based on expose of the results of feasibility research and assessment, Kusan River declared eligible for the dam construction. In addition itreceived the approval of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.
As a follow-up phases of the plan this year is the making of Detail Enginering Design (DED) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (Amdal) that the costs will be budgeted in the 2017 budget changes.
"The construction is expected to require Rp2 trillion will be offered to the central government by using the State Budget (APBN) and private sector through cooperation," he said.
