Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan Province, H Sayed Jafar, officiated 24 hour electricity in Kelumpang Utara Sub-district.
Finally, he said, people in Kelumpang Utara are able to enjoy 24 hour electricity service from PLN from previously only 12 hours.
"The 24 hour operation of PLN lights cannot be separated from prayers of the community, so it can be implemented quickly," said the Regent as reported on Thursday.
It was said that the community has witnessed that using electricity must be economical to avoid waste.

A 24 hour electricity service is one of the Kotabaru Regent's programs. It is in his vision and mission to realize people's economy that is competitive by providing sustainable infrastructure service.
The inauguration of the service was marked by the Regent H Sayed Jafar turning on siren, accompanied by Manager of PLN Kotabaru Anas Febrian and Head of Kelumpang Utara Sub-district Frans Subakti.
Kotabaru PLN Manager Anas Febrian explained that this achievement was thanks to direction and support of Kotabaru Regent for a 24 hour electricity.
"This is our support to the local government's programs. Alhamdulillah, the 24 hour electricity can run after we complete a 137 kilometers network from Langgadai Village to Kelumpang Utara sub-district," he said.
The total network managed, he expounded, is approximately2,800 kilometers.
With this inauguration, as many as 1,838 PLN customers in Kelumpang Utara are lit 24 hours. In the near future, Kelumpang Tengah Sub-district will follow, it is currently in the process of dissemination.
Kelumpang Utara Sub-district Head Frans Subakti expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of 24 hour electricity, which the sub-district had not previously experienced.
"We have never had 24 hour electricity, from yesterday and today it is officially inaugurated that people in Kelumpang Utara can enjoy 24 hour electricity. This is thanks to the help of Kotabaru Regent and PLN. Besides electricity, we can also enjoy other infrastructure, such as roads," he said.
