Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The government of Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan Province, is helping as many as 75 daily casual workes (THL) to get social protection from social security provider BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
The Kotabaru Regional Secretary H Said Akhmad said that with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan the workers, both male and female, will enjoy protection, such as work incident insurance and death insurance.
"The BPJS (social protection) distributed is specifically for the scope of regional secretariat only, while for casual workers in other agencies (SKPDs) will be proposed by each SKPD," said the secretary, Monday (9/9).

He explained that BPJS ketenagakerjaan has many benefits for THL workers, especially protection.
A security worker at the Regional Secretary, Ali, who is also one of THL, admitted that he was grateful to be protected with BPJS ketenagakerjaan.
"This is a form the Kotabaru government concern towards casual daily workers, especially within the Kotabaru Regional Secretariat," he said.
BPJS ketenagakerjaan is very helpful as job and death insurance for us THL workers, he said.
