Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A member of Kotabaru DPRD, Arbani, responded to plan to transfer the function of regent's office in Siring Laut area.
The Golkar Party politician was speaking following the move of regent's office to Sebelimbingan Office Complex in Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district.
“Insya Allah, we in DPRD will really support the regional government policies," said Arbani in Kotabaru, Wednesday.
According to him, utilizing the ex-office as hotel facility is the right choice to support tourism and will generate local revenue (PAD) from tourism sector as it is located in the attraction area of Siring Laut Park.
“Such a potential buildings of course have the opportunity to be used for economic development in Kotabaru,” he said.
He also added that tourism development is vision and mission of the district government as stated in the Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD).
Regarding the plan for DPRD office to be used as a shopping center, Arbani said he supports it as part of tourism development based on justice.
He hopes the utilization plan to be studied properly so that the benefits can be felt by wider community and can provide additional economic value for residents of Bumi Saijaan (Kotabaru's nickname).
