Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Vice Chairman I of Banjarbaru DPRD, South Kalimantan, Taufik Rachman assesses that the distribution of the government's rice reserve (CPP) by the city government is quite effective in curbing inflation.
"We assess that CPP rice distribution is quite effective in suppressing inflation in accordance with the aim of the assistance. This is proven by the relatively stable availability and price of rice on the market," he said here on Sunday.
In addition, Taufik said that the regional government's rice assistance sourced from fiscal incentive fund also quite well targeted at disadvantaged community as the recipients.
Taufik said that the Banjarbaru Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries Office (DKP3) has valid data on people who receive the government rice assistance.
"The City Government of Banjarbaru through DKP3 of course has already valid data on the beneficiaries so we assess the distribution is right on target and we hope it will be on target to control inflation," he said.

Head of DKP3 Abu Yajid Bustami said that 44,35 tons of 2024 CPP ready to be distributed to 44,350 beneficiaries.
"Each person receive 10 kilograms of rice and according to the aim it is to ease the burden on the community as well as to curb inflation, so that rice price on the market remains stable," he said.
In accordance with the Mayor Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin direction, Yajid said, rice distribution is conducted in stages according to needs with a period of between three to five months so that the quality of rice is guaranteed.
"Data collection for beneficiary residents is carried out from the neighborhood unit (RT) level to village level so that the data is valid. The distribution is in accordance needs within a time span of three to five months," he said.
