Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Syamsudin Noor Airport security fence damaged 15 meters in length after being hit by a passing car on the right side of the airport at Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 25 Banjarbaru.
Head of the airport public relations Noor Frandy Nugroho in Banjarbaru on Friday said the incident that caused damage to the perimeter fence occurred on Friday afternoon at around 12.45 pm.
The driver of the car was a man from Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, which slid from Banjarmasin direction towards Banjarbaru.
When the incident, the car ran in high speed. The driver could not control the pace of the vehicle, so it hit a fence on the left side of the main road.
"There were no casualties in the incident and the driver accompanied by the family was asked for information regarding the chronology of events by the aviation security team," he said.
According to him, shortly after the incident, the airport authorities closed the fence that opens with new material and at Friday afternoon all the damage can be repaired.
"The damaged airport security fence was immediately repaired shortly after the incident. This was done in an effort to ensure the safety of flights in the airport area," he said.
The accident did not disrupt the smooth operation and safety of the flight, having already installed double security fence.
"Flight operational all smooth and are not disrupted by the incident, moreover we already installed a double security fence, so safety and security maintained," he said.
