Banjar, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A total of 10 world riders took part in testing the challanging tracks of the 2023 International Uncle Hard Enduro championship in Kiram Park, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, held from November 17 to 19, 2023.
"There are 10 international riders and 1,500 riders from throughout Indonesia taking part in Uncle Hard Enduro 2023. This sport (championship participants) continues to increase," said Head of the South Kalimantan Tourism Office Muhammad Syarifuddin at Kiram Park, South Kalimantan, Sunday.
He said that the 2023 Uncle Hard Enduro track, which has a distance of five kilometers, has several additional tracks this year.
"God willing, we will hold this competition every year. This is a momentum to introduce South Kalimantan's tourism potential to the national and international arena," he said.
He named the 10 international rider, namely Enduro legend Graham Peter Jarvis (England), Matthew Ross Green (South Africa), Sonny Goggia (Italy), Dieter Rudolf (Austria), Maichel Walker (Austria), Alfredo Gomez Cantero (Spain), Sandra Gomez Cantero (Spain), Niko Mateo Piazza (United States), Teodor Smilenov K (Bulgaria), and Wade Young (South Africa).
Syarifuddin said that the racing championship had helped increase the economic income of the local community through micro, small and medium enterprises activities.
Chairman of the 2023 International Uncle Hard Enduro Organizing Committee, Ashadi Aboe, hopes that local riders from South Kalimantan will be able to reach the second or third podium.
"This competition was carried out well, the audience was also quite enthusiastic about watching the actions of local and international riders," said Ashadi.
