Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - More than 100 people took the challange of river tubing on the second day of the 2023 Loksado Festival in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District, South Kalimantan, Saturday.
"Participants chose this challange to test their toughness, feel a tense of yet unforgettable sensation," Head of HSS Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office (Disporapar) Ronaldy P Putra noted in a press statement released by HSS Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo), Saturday.
This year's festival is different, because river tubing becomes one of the activities as suggested by young people so they are able to participate in the event.
The festival is held for three days on July 7, 8 and 9, 2023.
Especially for the peak of the event, 100 rafts or lanting are prepared by the committee for bamboo rafting, as well as for river tubing as many as 100 sets of tools are readied, such as life jackets, helmets, and special tubing buoys.
Ronaldy said the participants wore safe equipment and were accompanied by experienced instructors to ensure their safety during the adventure.
The river that flow around Loksado offered stunning natural views with their own challanges, creating a memorable experience.
In river tubing, participants face exhilarating rapids, jump from small rocks, cross natural obstacles, and enjoy the fast river flow.
"The festival participants felt great joy and felt close to nature when they went along the river in an adventurous journey," said Ronaldy.
A river tubing participant, Nurul, expressed her joy and admitted that it was an extraordinary experience doing river tubing, enjoying the fun and excitement.
