Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin will complement the facilities at the Trisakti Banjarmasin Port with weighbridge to ensure truckloads enter into the ship does not exceed the maximum limit set.
General Manager of Pelindo III Banjarmasin Hengki Jajang Herasmana here on Sunday said the weighbridge in the Port Trisakti will be operated in September 2016.
"Construction of the weighbridge is as instructed by the Minister of Transportation Ignatius Jonan during his visit to this port some time ago," he said.
According to Hengky, Minister of Transportation requesting Pelindo III to provide facilities scales for trucks that will enter the ship before leaving port of Banjarmasin.
Earlier, on Thursday (15/6) Minister of Transportation in his working visit to South Kalimantan monitored the readiness of Port Trisakti in serving mudik (homecoming tradition) during Ramadan and Eid, 2016.
On the occasion, the Minister requested Pelindo III to immediately provide scales facilities for trucks that will enter the ship, to ensure heavy capacity load to avoid accidents.
"In the future if the rule is applied, each vehicle will be weighed before entering the ship. If overload the remaining charge forced to be left," said Hengky.
According to him, the capacity limit of vehicles that utilize ships or types of Roro only 10 tonnes for each vehicle.
