Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - During the month of Ramadan all nightclubs in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, will be closed to honor the Muslims fasting and tarawih prayers.
Regent Anang Syakhfiani announced this in Tanjung, on Wednesday, during a meeting with the Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in Guesthouses Tanjung.
"We will close all the entertainment during the holy month of Ramadan, including performing operations or control of the stalls do not have the building permit (IMB)," said Anang.
He admitted nearly 80 percent of stalls scattered in "Earth Saraba Kawa" (nickname for Tabalong) do not yet have IMB and often misused as a place of prostitution.
Therefore, in a large raids ahead of Ramadan, the local government will implement Local Regulations (Perda) related to IMB and regulation of prostitution ban.
In response to the proliferation of stalls that double as a place of prostitution or so-called warung jablay, a members of the NGO Pusaka Firman Yusi said the condition was triggered by the increasing number of vehicles or transport flows that traverse the district.
"The stalls along the road used by drivers from East Kalimantan and the opposite direction to rest or drink, which then developed into a plus stall can perform sex transactions," said Firman.
Therefore, he proposes it is necessary to build a special place of rest (rest area) for motor vehicles, cars or trucks that is representative with a variety of facilities ranging from dining, a prayer room and public toilets.
"The existence of the rest area in addition to contributing to regional income also minimize the presence of warung jablay that during this image is not good," added the Word.
