Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Kotabaru Sayed Jafar has inaugurated the Sengayam Pratama General Hospital in Pamukan Barat Sub-district, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Tuesday (January 17, 2023).
"The construction of Sengayam Hospital is a realization of the government program in effort to provide better health services to people on the border," Sayed Jafar said in Sengayam.
The Sengayam Pratama General Hospital, built in 2022-2023 on an area of 28 hectares, is planned to provide inpatient and outpatient care, emergency unit (UGD), general poly, children's poly, clinic and other supporting services.
"I ask medical staff to provide good service to patients, to be friendly and sincere in providing services," said the regent.
After officiating the hospital, the regent handed over an operational vehicle for medical staff in the sub-district who serve in remote areas.
Head of the Kotabaru Health Agency Erwin Simanjuntak thanked the local government for supporting the construction of the Sengayam Hospital, because it is a hospital that the community has been waiting for.
"Especially remote communities who sometimes receive lack of health services with a geographical location that is difficult to reach to get to a health service. Now it is no longer an obstacle," Erwin said.
He hopes that with the operation of the hospital it will be able to provide maximum service to people who are far from urban areas and be able to respond to public complaints in health sector.
