Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Kalimantan Health Agency head Achmad Rudiansjah stated hospitals in the province are still in a shortage of 400 beds of patients every day.
"If we estimate the number of hospitals in this area and the number of patient's arrival then we still have a shortage of about 400 beds," he said on Thursday.
According to him, from two hospitals belonging to the provincial government, namely Ulin General Hospital and Ansari Saleh Hospital and added with TPT and Bayangkara hospitals, plus district and municipal hospitals plus private hospitals they are still insufficient when compare with arrival of patients who need to be hospitalized every day.
The problem, said Achmad Rudiansjah, the main hospital in the provincial capital become a referral of patients from various regions, including the neighboring province of Central Kalimantan.
According to him, the government's move to expand the area of inpatient building in Ulin and Ansari Saleh aims to address shortcomings in the community needs to expect maximum health services.
"Now two hospitals belonging to the provincial government has been able to accommodate many patients, even medical equipment and technology is very advanced," he explained.
Related to Banjarmasin City Government to build a hospital at Jalan RK Ilir, South Banjarmasin, Achmad Rudiansjah stated, provincial administration strongly support and approve the development of hospital named with Sultan Suriansyah.
"The provincial government will certainly help, but the municipal government first perfected its development," he said.
City government has targeted the development of Sultan Suriansyah hospitl that is located on the banks of the Martapura River to be completed and on operational in 2019.
