Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Tanah Bumbu, south Kalimanta Province, received solar powered street lighting system (PJU-TS) and artesian wells as assistance from Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry.
"A total 270 PJU-TS and 16 points of artesian well will be realized in all areas of Bumi Bersujud (Tanah Bumbu's nickname)," said Tanah Bumbu Regent through Head of People Housing, Residential, and Land (Perkimtan) Agency H. Ansyari Firdaus here on Friday.
He said the handover document of the grant had been signed by Tanah Bumbu Regent at Ambarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta.
Procurement of street lighting system and clean water facility are among the programs of the regent.
Availability of street lighting for public is expected to be useful to prevent the potential of crime in the night and provides a sense of security and comfort.
Meanwhile, artesian wells are provided to fulfill people need for clean water for their daily needs, such as cooking, washing, and bathing, and will makes it easier for residents during the dry season.
