Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The government of Kotabaru continued it efforts to help its residents who were affected by COVID-19, one of which by providing basic food assistance.
"This is to ease the burden of our people considering the hardship of COVID-19, and it has been two years the problem has been going on," he said, Wednesday.
Regent Sayed Jafar together with Chairwoman of Kotabaru Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Hj Fatma Idiana distributed the aid to Hilir Muara Village for 40 people of four neighborhood units (RT) and Kotabaru Hilir Urban Village for 20 residents of two RTs.
"Hopefully the COVID-19 will end soon, and we'll do our activities, our economy, and everything in Kotabaru will recover, runs well again. People businesses will grow again and hopefully all are healthy," the Regent hopes as noted in a press release.
He always reminds people to keep wearing masks and comply with the health protocols.
"Wearing masks is our part, so we will not be difficult doing activities, and to always apply health protocols," said H. Sayed Jafar.
The package of basic food were distributed contained rice, cooking oil, tea, sugar, milk, and others.
Yanti, one of housewives who received the assistance, expressed her gratitude. "Alhamdulillah, thank you Regent of the Kotabaru government for the assistance. It is helpful especially at this time," she said.
