Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, through Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare H Minggu Basuki stated that improving family quality is the main foundation of regional development.
“We are (now) strengthening cross-sector synergy so that families in Sampanahan Village become resilient unit physically, economically, socially, and psychologically," he said at the regional family quality improvement development (PK2D) coordination meeting here as reported on Monday (July 4, 2025).
He said this is in accordance with South Kalimantan Governor's Regulation No. 100 of 2019 concerning Procedures for Improving Family Quality.

Minggu Basuki invited all parties, including regional apparatus, PKK (family welfare empowerment), business community, and the community to actively support the implementation of PK2D program in Sampanahan.
“I believe that with commitment and cooperation of all parties, we can build resilient families that will become the foundation for village and regional progress,” he pointed out.
The coordination meeting was attended by chairperson of the Kotabaru Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), head of related government agencies (SKPDs), Sampanahan Sub-district Head, head of Sampanahan Puskesmas, sub-district TP-PKK, and head of Sampanahan Village.
Head of South Kalimantan Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning Office (DP3AKB) Hj Husnul Khatimah said this coordination meeting was a follow up to the Family Quality Index (IKK) mapping survey in target villages, including Sampanahan in Kotabaru, which is a focus for development in 2025.

She emphasized the importance of data in building family quality.
“Thank you to cadres who have collected data at each location and inputted it into web-based application. This data become the basis for program interventions and program determines priority indicators for improving family quality,” she expounded.
Head of the provincial DP3AKB's Women and Children's Protection Pandu Aksana presented the results of IKK survey in Sampanahan Village.
The IKK showed that of 29 indicators assessed, Sampanahan recorded a Family Quality Index score of 75.91%, categorized as ""Gender and Child Rights Responsive". However, 9 indicators fell below 75% and warranted special attention for improvement.
