Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo lauded the Banjar District Government for achieving 63.20 percent or 21,784 people of elderly vaccination.
"The percentage of elderly vaccination in Banjar District to break the chain of spread of COVID-19 is good and I ask the Banjar Police and Military Commander (Dandim) of 1006/Banjar to continue to work together to increase vaccination in the community," said the President when giving directions to all regional heads and regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) in Indonesia, Monday.
Responding to the President's directive, Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur emphasized two things, namely accelerating vaccination and tightening health protocols.
"The President asked us to continue to carry out vaccination for elderly, (our) coverage 63 percent was considered good. This showed that the collaboration of government and TNI/Polri has been going well," he said.
Banjar recorded 150 COVID-19 active cases, 145 of them are undergoing self-isolation (mild symptom with supervision), 2 at the Ratu Zalecha Hospital, and 3 at Ulin Hospital in Banjarmasin.
"The total vaccination coverage of Banjar District is the first dose for public 343,976 people or 77.78 percent, first dose for elderly 21,784 people or 63.20 percent, and 25.02 percent or 14,974 people for child vaccination.
Banjar Police Chief AKBP Doni Hadi Santoso appealed to all business actors to implement health protocols, by wearing mask and maintaining distance when serving buyers.
The video conference at the Command Center was attended by Banjar Secretary HM Hilman, Head of Health Agency Yasna Khairina, Head of Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Coding Agency M Aidil Basit, Director of Ratu Zalecha Martapura Hospital Tofik Norman Hidayat, and representative of 1006/Banjar Military Command.
