Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Most of the residents living on the coast of Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan Province, have enjoyed the low price food program implemented by the local government.
"The service and program of cheap food are carried out to ease the burden on people with low income and are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Head of the Tanah Bumbu Food Security Agency Nahrul in Batulicin, Wednesday.
In the implementation, he said, the agency provided a mobile farmer shop car (or what so-called Sitoni Keliling) to villages in rotation.
For the supply, they cooperate with local farmers by buying their agricultural products, then resell them using the car at the cheapest price.
"The principle is to meet the need of the community at an affordable price and we do not profit from the sale and purchase," he said.
According to him, the mobile farmer shop car will continue so that people really feel the benefits of this program.
"We hope that through this program the community can be helped and ease the burden of their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
