Paringin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Balangan Abdul Hadi announced the elimination of iftar (breaking the fast) together for the rest of Ramadhan, as well as a halal bi halal and open house on Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriyah.
The Regent said that this applies to officials and state civil apparatus to stem the transmission of COVID-19 in the district.
"In accordance with the Minister of Home Affairs circular, owing to the spike of COVID-19 infection, especially in Eid last year and after Christmas and New Year holidays 2021, it is necessary to anticipate activities during Ramadhan, before, during, and Idul Fitri 2021," he explained in Paringin Friday.
All governors, regents, and mayors throughout Indonesia, he said, were asked to take steps to prohibit breaking fast together in Ramadhan, open house on Idul Fitri and halal bi halal (post-Idul Fitri gathering).
He appealed to all officials and state civil apparatus in Balangan not to violate these rules.
The Regent apologized to all people in Balangan for this policy.
According to him, if conditions return to normal, then iftar together, the halal bi halal, open house will be held again.
