"We on the behalf of our leadership hand over the assistance of braille Al-Quran to our friends in the South Kalimantan chapter of Indonesian Association of Visually Impaired People (Pertuni)," said Head of Personnel Care of the South Kalimantan Police's Human Resources Bureau AKBP Dani Humardani here on Monday.
The providing of Al-Quran braille is expected to further motivate Pertuni members to study the holy book.
"We also facilitate Al Quran learning at the Al Muhtadin Mosque of the South Kalimantan Police Headquarters. Please come if braille Al-Quran teacher willing to join," said Dani.
Chairman of South Kalimantan Pertuni Agus Hidayat expressed his gratitude to the South Kalimantan Provincial Police for their care about an inclusive society like them.
"Hopefuly the South Kalimantan Police chief Insp.Gen. Rikwanto and Deputy Chief Brig. Gen. Mohamad Agung Budijono who pioneered this assistance will always be given heath and blessing from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala," he said.
Agus admitted that the high cost in providing braille Al-Quran has resulted in many blind people being unable to learn it, let alone having a special braille Al-Quran.
