Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Flash flood in Hantakan Sub-district, Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Kalimantan, had caused about 150 houses to disappear.
"About 100 to 150 houses were swept away by the flood and left only their land. The tally has not included yet the report from chiefs of the respective neighborhood units (RT), while we are still processing the data," said Head of Hantakan Sub-district Kartadipura to Antara, Monday.
The flood also caused serious damage to a number of public facilities, including state elementary school SDN Bulayak, Hantakan Market, kindergarten TK Pertiwi Hantakan, a mushola (worship place) in RT 3 Alat, SDN 1 Datar Ajad.
In addition, he said, five suspension bridges cut off, including in Marai, Batu Tunggal, Alat Seberang, Alat Ujung, and Datar Ajab.
"We have coordinated with the HST Public Works and Public Housing Office," he said.

Of 12 villages in Hantakan, eight villages have the most houses were missing and badly damaged, namely villiges of Alat, Hantakan, Batu Tunggal, Bulayak, Murung B, Haruyan Dayak, and Datar Ajab.
"The worst is in Datar Ajab," he said.
The latest condition was the local people were cleaning the remaining of their houses from the rubble and the hardened mud.
