Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Some farmer groups in Bakti Village and Aluan Village, Batu Benawa Sub-district, who had been affected by flood, received rice seeds as an assistance from the government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) through the Agriculture Agency.
HST Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi handed over the assistance at the Bujur Matahari tourist attraction in Bakti Village, Wednesday (Dec 29, 2021).
Acting Head of Agriculture Agency Budi Satrya Tanjung said that there are 10 farmer groups who received the assistance, five groups for each village according to the data of flood affected areas.
"The amount of aid is 900 kg each, so the total for the two villages is 1,800 kg of rice seeds," he said.
In the next stage, he said, four other villages will receive the similar assistance. They are farmer groups in the villages of Paya Besar, Aluan Besar, Kahakan, and Kalibaru, bringing the total assistance to 5,.000 kg of rice seeds.
Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi hoped that the recipients of rice seeds assistance would make the best use of it, so that farmer groups will be more advanced.
Besides handing over the rice seeds assistance, the Regent also visited Bujur Matahari tourist attraction which is managed by the Bakti Village-owned enterprise (BUMDes). "We hope that other BUMDes can be as creative as Bakti Village," he hoped.
