Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Kumai Navy Post, the rank of Banjarmasin Naval Base under the Tarakan Navy XIII Main Base Command, has secured an object suspected of a plane stranded on the seashore of Ranggau Bay, West Kotawaringin District, Central Kalimantan.
"The debris is suspected to come from an aircraft that had sunk for a long time," said Commander Banjarmasin Naval Base Marine Colonel (P) Sandharianto, Wednesday.
The location of the object found was at coordinate 3° 28' S - 111° 47,9' T, exactly in Teluk Kramat Hamlet Block 77.
The half-tube object has a length of 9 meters and a diameter of 5 meters, an electric plat with code WFC2 (YF19-46T0) 14001 C24, electric solenoid code DLS 300c 24D1 19c, aluminum honeycomb flakes, and honeycomb fiber wrap.
"The items found are now secured at the Kumai Navy Post. While the hanf-tube object is still at the scene waiting for a follow-up," said Sandharianto.
The finding originated from a report from the Secretary of Sungai Cabang Village that an object similar to the body of an aircraft was stranded on the seaside of Ranggau Bay.
Commander of Kumai Navy Post Marine Second Lieutenant (P) Muhammad Soleh Rio Kusuma then coordinated with SAR and related agencies to monitor the location.
From the results of tracking the object was at 40 NM from Kumai Post and the results of coordination with the West Kotawaringin Basarnas there was no news regarding an accident at the scene.
