Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi revealed APEC leaders discussed two main agendas at the APEC Summit 2020, hosted virtually by Malaysia on Friday night.
"At the meeting, APEC leaders discussed two main agendas, with the first being cooperation in handling COVID-19 and economic recovery efforts in the region as well as the discussion of post-2020 APEC vision called APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040," she said.
The minister made the remarks at a virtual press conference from the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java after attending the APEC Summit 2020 with President Joko Widodo. They joined the summit via videoconferencing from the Bogor Palace.
For Indonesia, this year's APEC Summit was very important since it was held amid the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic downturn, Marsudi said.

The meeting also took place in the backdrop of deepening rivalry between large countries, she observed. In fact, this year, APEC failed to produce an outcome document, she said adding, 2020 is also the deadline for the Bogor Goals 1994.
"And the APEC (leaders) this year agreed to APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 to continue the vision of the Bogor Goals 1994," she revealed.
The Bogor Goals were unveiled at the Bogor Presidential Palace in 1994 to guide APEC cooperation until 2020.
The Bogor Goals have laid a strong foundation for APEC cooperation in terms of both transparency and recognition of different treatment for developed economies and developing economies, Marsudi remarked.
The APEC Economic Leaders Meeting was led by the Malaysian Prime Minister in his capacity as the host of APEC 2020. The meeting was attended by APEC leaders from 21 economies. (INE)
