Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Regent H A Chairansyah together with Chairwoman of HST's Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Hj Ernawati opened the 2019 Barabai Expo at the Dwi Warna Square in Barabai, Wednesday (Dec 18, 2019).
Chief executive of the expo Acting Head of Trade Agency Ali Fahmi said this event is to mark the 60th anniversary of the HST District and held for a week.
"This is a mean of socialization of programs and activities for each regional apparatus within the HST District Government and other vertical agencies," he declared.
While for MSMEs (UMKM), under the auspices of the Trade Agency, the expo is a place to promote their business, add insight, and experiences.
Ali added, the expo is aimed to motivate SMEs to think innovatively in doing their business and fostering love for local products and local cultures and developing national culture.
"We have prepared 58 of 5x5 meter tents consisting of 29 tents for regional apparatus stand and vertical offices then 30 for public stand plus 111 units of 3x3 meter tents," he said.

HST Regent H A chairansyah thanked the organizing committee and the EO who have designed this yearly activity to make it festive and become entertainment for public with a variety of events and local products presented at the exhibition stands.
"Hopefully the next year will be more lively and this activity to run safely until it finish," he remarked.
After cutting the ribbon to mark the opening of the expo, the regent and his wife together with members of regional leaders coordination forum (Forkopimda) observing the expo and tasting a variety of typical local cakes and cuisine.
