Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has invited social media influencer and disabled rights activist Surya Sahetapy to promote the ministry's official website to tackle hoax circulated online.
During the seminar on public transparency here on Monday, the minister remarked that hoax will mislead people on the state's financial information.
"During the time when everything was disclosed, the ministry has struggled to fight hoax circulating on the internet," she remarked.
Hence, Indrawati noted that the influencer's role in promoting the ministry's website, http://www.e-ppid.kemenkeu.go.id/in/home, will help people looking for official information on tax and finance.
At the seminar, the minister informed participants that the influencer's posts on the ministry's website on his Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube's accounts had 27 thousand viewers.
Surya, son of famous Indonesian singer Dewi Yull and actor Ray Sahetapy, has nationwide acclaim, not only as a social media influencer but also a disabled rights activist.
His Instagram's account @suryasahetapy has 152 thousand followers, while his Twitter account @SuryaSahetapy has been followed by 3,008 people.
