Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General (Irjen) Yazid Fanani and his ranks welcomed 120 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers who have just completed their operational control aid (BKO) in Papua.
Irjen Yazid Fanani appreciated their success in serving in Papua. The welcoming ceremony was held at the Brimob headquarters in Banjarbaru, Tuesday afternoon.
"We should be grateful that the duty has been carried out in accordance with expectations and all personnel returned in complete and healthy conditions," said the police chief.
"I hope this performance can be maintained and improved. In the future, we still face the task and the more difficult public order agenda requires personnel readiness," he explained.
Previously, 120 South Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade personnel carried out their duties for six months to help control the security situation (BKO) in Papua Province.
In the BKO to the Papua Regional Police in Aman Nusa I (contingency security in anticipation of social conflict) Operation, Brimob personnel must entered the forest in the mountains to find groups that have killed many people.
The armed separatist groups shot Trans Papua road project workers who were building bridges in Kali Yigi and Kali Aurak, Yigi Sub-district, Nduga Regency.
