Kotabaru, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - The population of stray dogs in Kotabaru Regency has reduced drastically. More than 1,000 dogs were captured and sent out of the area for New Year party.
Head of Public Health of Veterinary of the Kotabaru Animal Husbandry Agency drh. Sidiq Adisusilo said Monday (1/4), according to several village chiefs and people, dogs caught, killed, and sent to Manado.
The dog partly beaten, and killed in the arrow, then put in a box containing ice. "Having collected quite a lot, dogs that have been preserved by the ice were shipped by truck brought to Manado," he explained.
He admitted, Animal Husbandry Agency find it helpful, because it does not cost elimination. Cost elimination every single dog around Rp50 thousand. While the Animal Husbandry Agency only able to eliminate 500 dogs per year, whereas the proliferation of stray dogs quite rapidly.
Stray dogs are caught in Sarang Tiung, Pulau Laut Selatan, Pulau Laut Kepulauan, Kotabaru.
