Balangan, South Kalimantan (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - Mental Hospital (RSJ)
Sambang Lihum in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, on the grounds of excess
capacity, refused to provide care to a person with a psychiatric disorder and
was deprived.
The patient is a 25 year old man, a resident of sub-District Lampihong, Balangan, deprived for at least five years by way of parenthesis in a room locked from the outside.
He said on Saturday (16/3) then, with the consent of the family, the local health center officials concerned to deliver RSJ Sambang Lihum for treatment. "But the RSJ said they were having excess capacity, so there is no place to accommodate people," he said.
Clinic officer later reported the matter to the RMF which the members of the Quick Reaction Team (TRC) of Social Ministry specifically dealing with patients with psychiatric disorders deprived. RMF directly approached the emergency unit (UGD) of RSJ but to no avail. The UGD only provided sufficient drug to the patient consumed for 15 days.
RMF has previously been rejected by RSJ Sambang Lihum while trying to enter three deprived victims with psychiatric disorder from sub-District Hantakan, Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) with same reason excess capacity.
