All levels of Banjar District Government are preparing themselves to face various disasters that have the potential to hit the district.

Their preparedness can be seen from the 2024 disaster alert call for floods, tidal waves, land slides, and tornadoes at the courtyard of Banjar Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) office in Martapura, Tuesday (Nov 5, 2024).
 
"This alert roll call is a form of preparedness in facing disasters," said Regional Secretary of Banjar Mokhamad Hilman after leading the ceremony, which was attended by TNI/Polri, BPBD, Transportation Agency, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Fire Brigade (Damkar), mass organizations, and volunteers.
 
He said, rainy season is predicted to arrive, increasing the risk of disasters such as floods, landslides, and rob or tidal waves.

Hilman reminded that disaster that occur due to natural phenomenon have the potential to happen in several places in Banjar District and must be anticipated through prepared measures.
 
"Preparedness of various element is the main key in mitigation and rescue efforts, so we have to work together in facing potential disasters that can occur anytime and anywhere," he pointed out.
 
Banjar government together with TNI/Polri and all elements of community must move quickly and swiftly through preventive measures such as mapping vulnerable areas and providing alert posts.
 
"Education to the entire community about early signs of disaster should not be ignored, besides importance of collaboration and mutual cooperation in addressing the disaster that occur at any time," he said.
