South Kalimantan locally generated revenue (PAD) from fisheries has increased from Rp2 billion in 2022 to Rp2.3 billion in 2023.

Head of South Kalimantan Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office (DKP) Rusdi Hartono informed it at the appreciation event to traders at Banjarmasin Fishing Port, Banjarraya, Banjarmasin City, Friday night (Dec 29, 2023).

“Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the Banjarmasin Fishing Port has just appreciated the best levy payers,” he said.

Rusdi said that Regional Technical Service Unit (UPTD) of Banjarmasin Fishing Port was the largest contributor of all fisheries service units in South Kalimantan.

In 2023 its income from retribution exceeded the target of Rp936 million to Rp980 million. This revenue is expected to continue to increase to be one billion in 2024.

“So we have seven service units, four (fishing) ports (Banjarmasin, Muara Kintap, Batulicin, Kotabaru), two cultivation centers (Bincau, Banjar District, and Lontar, Teluk Tamiang, Kotabaru) and one Fishery Product Quality Testing Center,” he expounded.

Rusdi targets in 2024, PAD from fisheries in South Kalimantan will increase to Rp2.5 billion.

Head of Banjarmasin Fishing Port Ahmad Jaki said that an appreciation in the form of gifts was a form of thanks to traders who were never in arrears in paying restribution, regularly and on time every month.

He said the realization of revenue at the Banjarmasin Fishing Port in 2023 reached 105 percent, from the target of Rp936 million reaching Rp980 million.

“We take fees from stall rentals, boat moorings, while those that are not collected are from Fish Auction Market (TPI), because it is the authority of the city,” said Ahmad Jaki.

Faridiansyah, a trade who received the appreciation from Banjarmasin Fishing Port, acknowledged that he was grateful for the gift. He hope next year he will receive the same appreciation.

According to Jaya, one of fish entrepreneurs at the Banjarmasin Fishing Port, gifts from DKP or Banjarmasin Fishing Port can provide encouragement for business actors who doing activities at the port.
