Members of Banjarmasin Indonesian Heritage City Network (JKPI) discussed their programs in effort to preserve culture heritage and to develop tourism.


The Banjarmasin JKPI Coordinator Mohammad Khuzaimi here on Saturday said that the discussion was about organization and a plan for JKPI congress, which is scheduled early next year in the city.

Members in their discussion agreed to make Banjarmasin JKPI as a non-profit professional organization.

Khuzaimi said they also agreed to submit a notary deed to be then followed up with a decree of mayor, as their professional work partner.

"We prepare from thematic, vision, mission, direction, goal, legality, role in society, membership, social media, and all administrative matters," he said.

According to Khuzaimi, the Banjarmasin JKPI will hold a premiere meeting around January 10-16, 2024 in Banjarmasin.

It will discuss an organizational structure, description of duties, and how they relate to local government and central JKPI.

If everything is well organized, the board of JKPI plans to hold an audience with officials from relevant agencies and collect data on cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible.

They also discussed locations where there is cultural heritage such as old houses, old villages, and other areas that are related to Banjarmasin as a heritage city.

The Banjarmasin JKPI held a dialogue after it was inaugurated by Executive Director of JKPI Asfarinal, a few days ago.

The dialogue led by Muhammad Khuzaimi was attended by members Hasan Zainuddin, Mohammad Ary, Bagong Tidarta, Dodot Wahyudin, Muhammad Yusuf, Prof Rustam Effendi, Amanul Yakin, Nabehani, and Mrs Lisna.
