PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk. has again received Best Awards for Social Elements in Bisnis Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (BISRA) 2023.
Two awards were won at the same time for a category of Social Element in Platinum business scale and the Best Awards for Social Elements.
Commisioner of Bisnis Indonesia Group Dorothea Samola handed over the awards to Adaro Director Julius Aslan in Aryaduta Hotel Jakarta, Tuesday (August 15, 2023).
“This award, in our opinion, will motivate us to be more enthusiastic about improving the CSR quality and programsin Adaro,” said Julius Aslan in Tabalong, Wednesday (August 23, 2023).
He said this award was different from other awards with the form of award groups instead of 1st and 2nd place winners.
"This is very interesting because it really motivates us to maintain this position and continue to improve ourselves and programs,” he said.
BISRA 2023, which was organized by Bisnis Indonesia Daily with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, is an appreciation to companies that committed to contributing to vulnerable and low income communities in need of support and guidance to grow strong and prosperous.
Adaro was selected as one of the 2023 BISRA winners out of 72 participants because it considered successful in running social and environment responsibility program through one of its flagship programs Desa Mamanda (Independent Empowered Village).
The program was created to answer the challanges and potential by preserving the environment through bamboo planting. The aims is to optimize reclamation and biodiversity program to reduce the potential impact of land transformation both in Adaro's internal environment and around the mine.
Bamboo was chosen because this plant grows fast, has a long life, and is a local plant that support the hydrological cycle.
Desa Mamanda Program has also created a tourist spot called Racah Mampulang Cultural Market which carries the concept of Eco Culture Edutainment.
Through this program, villagers are equipped with skills of economic value that will help them generate income in a sustainable manner.
The BISRA award is a motivation for Adaro Energy Indonesia to continue to improve the quality of CSR activities and to continue to contribute to Indonesian society through integrated and sustaible program planning.(Adv)
