Rob flood has swamped houses and public facilities in 15 villages in Tapin District, South Kalimantan.

Rob flood hits the Sub-district of Candi Laras Utara (CLU) and Candi Laras Selatan (CLS) which are located in the downstream area of Tapin River, which is hydrologically the same as Barito River.

"Water has started to rise since December 5," said Sofyan, Head of Emergency and Logistics of Tapin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Wednesday (8/12).

Meanwhile, the Tapin BPBD is still recording areas affected by rob or seawater rising flood.

Data from the local Babinsa (a village supervisory non-commissioned officer) said the villages affected in CLU including Margasari Hilir, Pariok, Buas Buas, Rawana, Teluk Haur, Batalas, Sawaja, Kaladan, and Sei Salai.

While in CLS were Baulin, Margasari Hulu, Candi Laras, Baringin B, Baringin A, Pebaungan Hilir, and Pebaungan Pantai in neighborhood unit (RT) 1.

"Situation of CLS is not much different from that of CLU. (Water) in people's house is above the knees," said the Candi Laras Selatan Sub-district Head Ivada Chandra Sari, when reporting to BPBD.

"There are 4 villages whose residential roads have been blocked by water," he continued.

The impact of the rob flood has disrupted people's activities. Currently, the flood is receding.
