Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Health Office conducted a study to Banjarbaru city, to accelerate the implementation of reporting system and financial accountability of Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUDs) for health service facilities.
Secretary of the office Arya Nor Abdi said the purpose of this working visit was to realize improved services to the community. Thus the district government is committed to encourage BLUDs acceleration in 13 community health centers (puskesmas).
"The implementation of BLUD in puskesmas is one of important strategy in increasing independence, flexibility, and quality of health services to the community,” he said here as reported on Friday.

Currently, Kotabaru has 28 puskesmas. A total of 15 puskesmas or community health centers and one regional general hospital have just been determined as health facilities with BLUD system.
Meanwhile, 13 other puskesmas are in the process of becoming BLUDs.
"We are strongly committed to continue to encourage BLUD status in all puskesmas,” he said.
BLUD is a financial management system that allows regional government agencies to operate with greater flexibility and efficiency in providing public services.
Through this BLUD system, Kotabaru's puskesmas can provide services quickly according to community needs. Thus Kotabaru learned from Banjarbaru in managing BLUD-based health services.
