The City Government of Banjarmasin keeps intensifying vaccination and targets the rate to reach 80 percent by November 12, 2021.
Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi said at City Hall on Friday (Oct 1, 2021) that the city currently has sufficient stock of vaccines to 15 days ahead.
He urged people to immediately get COVID vaccine jab either at puskesmas, or at mass-vaccination held by TNI-Polri or other institutions, otherwise to the city's Health Office which opens every day.
"Let's get vaccinated, we build herd immunity, because we have a target of November 12, 2021 vaccination to reach 80 percent," he pointed out.
Machli Riyadi said that the city's vaccination rate has so far reached over 50 percent of the total target of about 515,000 people.
Now the vaccination is being more intensified to reach 5,000 people per day. "If it can run optimally, we believe we can meet the target above," he said.
Machli Riyadi stated that vaccination had a real impact on reducing COVID-19 cases in Banjarmasin City, thus the central government lowered the public activity restriction (PPKM) level from 4 to 2.
