Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina announced that two awards were won by the city, namely the 2021 Child-Friendly City and Parahita Ekapraya or Gender Mainstreaming Awards.
"This is a special gift for the 495th anniversary of our city in 2021 with two awards," he said in Banjarmasin, Thursday.
The 2021 Child-Friendly City award from the central government to Banjarmasin, with Madya or medium category, was the third for the city, after it received the same in 2018 and 2019.
Ibnu Sina said that the award is dedicated to all children in the City of Banjarmasin, especially those who join the Banjarmasin City Children's Forum.
He hopes the city to keep improving to win the Nindya or main category next year. The issue of women's empowerment and child protection is one of the development priorities of Banjarmasin.
