Banjarbaru City Police distributed food packages to residents affected by COVID-19 and driving license (SIM) voucher for applicants whose birth date on July 1.
Chief of Traffic Unit of the Banjarbaru City Police Adj Comr (AKP) Apriyansa Sinatra here on Monday said the social service was in commemoration of the 74th Bhayangkara Anniversary in 2020.
"We distribute hundreds of food packages to people affected by COVID-19, also retired members of National Police, and orphanage children through gradual distribution," he said.
As many as 200 food packages distributed containing basic necessities such as cooking oil, sugar, also canned food, including masks in each package.
Related to the SIM voucher given to applicants with the date of birth on July 1, it was a police program to commemorate the Bhayangkara Anniversary in 2020 and was simultaneously carried out in the rank of South Kalimantan Provincial Police.

"We explain this is not a free SIM, because driver's license for a driver is competence or expertise and will be charged according to the rules to enter the Non-Tax State Revenue," he said.
In accordance with the quota from the South Kalimantan Police, SIM vouchers were given to 15 applicants. They still had to follow the procedure by taking written and practical examinations.
"So far 11 applicants have been given the vouchers, both SIM A and SIM C, new or extended. They are required to undergo written and practical exams. If they do not pass, they cannot obtain SIM," he said.
