South Kalimantan Task Force for COVID-19 Control and Acceleration Mitigation announced five new death of the highly infectious disease on Wednesday (May 6, 2020) bringing the total number to 17 from the total 229 cases in the province.
The South Kalimantan government's spokesman for the Control and Acceleration Handling of COVID-19 HM Muslim in Banjarbaru said, all of the five COVID-19 sufferers who died were from Banjarmasin.
The dead victims were Ulin-077, age 64 years, male, with a code KS220, then Ulin084, 48 years, male with code KS221, Mas024, male, 48, code KS222.
Then Mas022, male, 45, code KS223, and B006, male, 34, code KS227.
Patient KS227 died at the Bhayangkara Banjarmasin Hospital and his PCR swab tested positive for COVID-19.

Muslim also said that the number of positive cases is also increased by 10 from 219 to 229.
Of those 38 are hospitalized in a number of hospitals in South Kalimantan, 142 are undergoing independent isolation or special quarantine, and 32 had recovered.
They who are hsopitalized are 16 at the Ulin Banjarmasin Regional Hospital, five in Moch Anshari Saleh Banjarmasin Hospital, six at the Bhayangkara Banjarmasin Hospital.
Four at Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital, three at Damanhuri Barabai Hospital, one at Ratu Zaleha Martapura Hospital, one at the Abdul Azis Marabahan Hospital, one at the H Boeyasin Pelaihari Hospital, one at the Hasan Basry Kandangan Hospital.
