South Kalimantan's Task Force for Control and Acceleration Handling of COVID-19 sends 100 specimens every day to the Health Ministry’s Environmental Health and Disease Control Centers (BTKL-PP) in Banjarbaru for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) lab test.


Spokesman of the task force HM Muslim here on Tuesday said the dispatch is one of proves of the team's efforts and hard work to continue to search for residents who have direct contact with COVID-19 patients.

According to Muslim, currently, the focus of the team's attention is searching in Banjarmasin's Sentra Antasari Market. Here, in the biggest market in South Kalimantan, confirmed positive patients have been found and one of them died.

"Specimen from tracing of residents who have direct contact with COVID-19 patients have been sent to the lab, just waiting for the progress and results," he said.

He said, with the discovery of the new cases, the team could immediately carry out quarantine management for the positive confirmed patients.

Furthermore, the task force team can stop the spread of COVID-19 cases through tracing effort, thus the social and economic living condition in South Kalimantan to recover soon.

Regarding the health condition of officers, he said, right now they are in quite good condition because the security measures when helping with COVID-19 sufferers were done well.

"We really hope, all parties to comply with the provisions set by the government until the existing cases could be resolved immediately," he pointed out.

The role of the community, Muslim said, is very important, among others, by immediately report themselves when they realize they have made contact with COVID-19 patients and always honest with officers.

Through the search, it is expected there are no more clusters of COVID-19.
