PT Arutmin Indonesia Kintap Site and Asam-Asam Site, Tanah Laut, handed over assistance of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the government of Tanah Laut District, Wednesday (May 6, 2020). 

"On behalf of Tanah Laut government and all the people in this area, I thank PT Arutmin Indonesia Kintap Site and Asam-Asam Site who care for the joint effort in combating COVID-19," Regent H  Sukamta remarked.

He said the assistance was very helpful as the district's Task Force for COVID-19 Handling Acceleration intensifying the fight against the virus.

"When other areas are imposing large-scale social restriction (PSBB), we will do the same but in a different way. What we will do is a massive war against COVID-19," he stated. 

These measures, he continued, require no less fund to purchase the necessary equipment, such as PPE, rapid test tool and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). "PCR is a laboratory test to detect the presence of genetic material from cell, bacteria or virus," he said.

"At this time we need at least 3.000 PCR. Alhamdulillah PT Arutmin Indonesia Kintap Site management assisted with 500 units," he revealed.

The target of rapid test and PCR, Sukamta said, among others employees of minimarkets scattered along the highway and company employees, especially those with high mobility or frequent travel from red zone areas.

Separately, Head of Mining Engineering (KTT) of PT Arutmin Indonesia Kintap Site Lutfi Qolbirokhim said, the PPE provided by Kintap Site amounted to Rp241.398.265 in the form of hazmat, face shield, gloves, booth shoes, and others. 

"While the assistance from Asam-Asam Site worth Rp126.662.000," he said.

Lutfi Qolbirokhim said, his party will fully support the Tanah Laut government effort to contain COVID-19.
