Jakarta (ANTARA) - Nam Air, a national airline incorporated in the Garuda Indonesia Group, will soon open two new routes in the domestic area, especially in the Kalimantan region, namely Pontianak-Banjarmasin and Samarinda-Tarakan.
Director of Nam Air Asa Perkasa in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said that besides expanding connectivity, Nam Air's move to open this new route is an effort to provide optimal service during the homecoming trend in the framework of Eid al-Fitr 1440 Hijriah.
"By opening of new routes, customer choices are increasingly diverse. On the other hand this is also the right momentum, usually the customer demand ahead of Eid Al-Fitr is very high," he said.
The route will launch on May 1, 2019 with departure from Pontianak scheduled at 07.00 a.m WIB to arrive at Banjarmasin at 09.50 a.m. WITA.
The plane will fly back from Banjarmasin at 19:00 p.m. WITA to arrive at Pontianak at 19:50 p.m. WIB.
While flight from Samarinda will depart at 12.20 p.m.WITA to arrive at Tarakan at 13.35 p.m. WITA. The reverse flight is scheduled to depart from Tarakan at 14.20 p.m. WITA and will arrive back at Samarinda at 15.35 p.m.WITA.
These two new routes will be serviced every day using the ATR 72-600 fleet.
Along with the opening of this new route, Nam Air increased the frequency of Banjarmasin - Samarinda flight, namely from the previous four times a week to one time every day.
"The public interest in this route turned out to be very high. We hope this addition can accommodate every customer's request and encourage development in these areas, "said Asa.
