Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Transportation Agency plans to make several roads to be one-way traffic to deal with congestion earlier.
Head of the agency Ikhwan Nor Khaliq here Sunday said a one-way system will take effect on Jalan Piare Tendean alongside the siring (embankment) Martapura river and Jalan Sudirman in front of the former Governor's office.
"After these two roads, we will synergize with the planned closure of the access road for Kayu Tangi Ujung Bridge, because there is a new bridge construction," he said.
The plan, said Ikhwan, is that Jalan Cemara will be made in one direction to enter the city of Banjarmasin from the Trans Kalimantan Handil Bakti Road, Barito Kuala.
"As for going out of town, we create a one-way system of Jalan Adiyaksa," he explained.
Other roads that are planned in one direction are Jalan Saka Permai, Belitung.
According to him, the plan to implement a one-way system is not necessarily done right away, but there needs to be a study.
