We hope for the next time the results obtained can be increased and the selling price of grain is supportive so that farmers can be more prosperous,Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Barabai Agricultural Counseling Center (BPP) succeeded in innovating agriculture by developing Situ Bagendit varieties of rice which should be used for dry land and even producing in wetlands.
The BPP together with the head of the HST Agriculture Agency and self-supporting counseling agents in the Barabai sub-district harvested the Situ Bagendit rice variety on the BPP pilot village in Mandingin Village on Tuesday.
Head of the Agriculture Agency Ir. Zainuddin in his direction said that the 6 tons per hectare of Situ Bagendit rice yield was a good result.
"We hope for the next time the results obtained can be increased and the selling price of grain is supportive so that farmers can be more prosperous," he said.
According to him, this kind of activity is simple but very good to show the BPP is successful in managing its demonstration land.
He hopes all always remember the regent's message that the HST's mainstay income is from the agricultural sector, needs to be developed more seriously.
Barabai BPP Head H Khairi Rusdi revealed Situ Bagendit rice variety was actually for dry land, but after trying in wetlands it turned out that it was also suitable and good.
"The results are quite good compared to other superior varieties, especially other rice varieties in wetlands," he said.
